Model Railway Tour Event
Free Event: A visit to the home of Master Model Railroader Mike Chandler to view his fantastic model railroad.
Mike Chandler is among the hobby’s elite in every sense. He was awarded Master Model Railroader by the National Model Railroad Association in 2013, a designation that has been given to around 700 people since the Master Railroader program started in 1960. Every tree is handmade, every single railroad tie is hand-cut, stained and meticulously placed. Mountains are hand-carved from just over 110 kilograms of plaster. Mike estimates there are nearly five kilometres of electric wiring to make the 1938 railroad layout run. Check the link below to see a CBC News article on Mike Chandler’s “Hidden Museum”.
When: Saturday, March 8th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. See the red text below. Due to the limited space for viewing and for parking at this exhibit you will need to book a 1/2 hour time slot between 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Where: 217 – 7th Avenue, New Westminster. ** This is a private residence with on-street parking only.
