1976 MGB V8
Description
1976 MGB. Professionally backdated and fit with a Rover 3500 V8 and 5 speed transmission. The car is beautifully prepared and drives and handles better than a stock MGB. The aluminium block V8 is reportedly 40 lbs. lighter than the original cast iron 1800 cc 4 cylinder motor thus offering an improved balance. The roughly 200 horsepower is also a rather noticeable improvement over the stock which was under 100. The 72 spoke wire wheels and 195 Dunlop tires help give it a “tough” stance that is quite apparent when compared with a stock car. The British Racing Green paint is older but in very presentable condition with only minor blemishes. The car has had an interesting history allegedly originating in California where it was converted in the 1980’s. It was shipped to Holland where is spent several years before moving on to Saudi Arabia as well as Abu Dhabi before returning to Canada several years ago. This is a rust free example of a professionally built MGB V8 oadster. The car is located on Salt Spring Island BC.
