DAY 1

Victoria - Nanaimo - Comox

Brits 'Around BC

Brits 'Around BC Begins:

On Sunday, Father's Day, June 19th
, the members gathered at the Father's Day Picnic in Beacon Hill Park. Activities started at around 9:00 a.m., and at 1:00 pm the Brits 'Around BC Registrants gathered for the start of the tour around BC, visiting at all 6 Branches of the Old English Car Club. Members drove north to Nanaimo, stopping for a short while for 'Tea" and a visit with members from the Nanaimo Branch between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. at the Woodgrove Mall.   Some of the Nanaimo Branch members continued with us on up to Comox, via Qualicum where we stopped for a short while at the beach. Qualicum Beach is absolutely fabulours with its wide expanse of 'hard packed' sand, and shallow waters. Makes for great swimming as the water gets very warm when the tide comes in.

From this point the tour then continued to Comox where the Comox Valley Branch met the participants in flying colours. We all gathered at the park above the Marina and a Photo Shoot was held. Each member received an album with the OECC logo on the cover, with a photo of their car on the first page. This was a wonderful gift as we have so many photos to insert.

The Branch then led us to the top floor of the pub (which they also use for their club meetings) and from where we could view the harbour and get a good whiff of the sea air. A gorgeous spot. the BBQ was excellent and very well prepared. Thank you to Comox for all your effort, we really do appreciate it a lot.
