Brits 'Round BC    2005

DAY 6

Prince George - 100 Mile House area

Brits 'Around BC

After a leisurely breakfast and a tour around Prince George, the tour will once again depart, possibly in the early afternoon, for the return home.

This is the part of the trip where we will 'split' the group for a short while. The idea of a side trip to Barkerville was discussed, particularly for those who haven’t been there. Barkerville deserves a full day at least to be worth the trip in from Quesnel, but for us that will not be the case. For those who wish to take the trip, please realize that you will not be able to take in all the events such as the theatre, however a walk through the area to get a flavour would still be very interesting. There are also interesting areas of historical value that you pass through on the road to and fro Barkerville, such as Wells and Cottonwood House.

As I have received, so far, a split decision. There is a possibility that some folks will go to Barkerville and those who do not wish to do so, may either take a more leisurely drive down to 100 Mile House, or indeed, spend a little more time in Prince George, leaving in the early afternoon and meeting up in Quesnel. Whatever the decision, we should plan for the two groups meeting again in Hope.
